Joy Communities help people connect more deeply, grow in Christian maturity, and spread the gospel in East St. Louis. If you consider City of Joy your church home, we strongly encourage you to find a group near you and get connected.
Meals Together
When each community gathers there is food involved! We have a good conversation over a good meal together.
Message Applied
After we break bread, we dive into the message preached on Sunday. We discuss main points, questions, applications, etc. But ultimately, we desire the Spirit to shape the direction of our discussion.
Mutual Care
Every community is encouraged to be transparent. We lean on one another during hard times bearing one another burdens. We discuss issues and seek to meet each other’s tangible needs.
Mission
We seek opportunities to be on a mission with our community groups. Whether it’s serving the homeless, cleaning up trash or tutoring children, we seek to love our community in practical ways for the sake of the gospel
Multiply
Joy Communities are one of our strategies to “multiply” disciples of Jesus throughout our city.
